Warehouses and factories are one of the most challenging environments for WiFi — and one of the most consequential. When connectivity fails on a warehouse floor, so does your WMS, your scanners, your comms, and potentially your entire operation. Yet most industrial facilities in Melbourne are still running consumer-grade or legacy systems that were never designed for the demands of a modern logistics or manufacturing environment.
Why Warehouses Are Hard on WiFi

High ceilings, steel racking, concrete tilt-up walls and rolling machinery all combine to create a hostile RF environment. Signal drops off sharply over distance, reflects unpredictably off metal surfaces, and competes with interference from forklifts, conveyor motors and industrial equipment.
Add in the need to cover dock doors, mezzanine offices, cold storage and external loading areas, and you quickly realise a single router isn’t going to cut it.
What a Proper Warehouse WiFi System Looks Like
A professionally designed warehouse WiFi system starts with a site survey — walking the floor, mapping coverage zones, identifying interference sources and planning access point locations before a single cable is run. We use UniFi access points throughout, managed from a single cloud-based controller that gives you real-time visibility across every device on the network.

High ceilings mean scissor lifts and EWPs — we’re equipped for elevated work and hold current White Card certification. Access points are mounted at the optimal height to provide coverage across the warehouse floor without dead zones near racking or dock doors.
VLANs keep your operational traffic — scanners, WMS, printers — completely separate from staff devices and guest access, protecting your network performance where it matters most.
Structured Cabling Done Right

Every access point, camera and IoT device runs back to a central patch panel on Cat6 or Cat6A cabling. We handle conduit, cable trays, penetrations and terminations — leaving a clean, labelled installation that’s easy to expand as your business grows.
For large facilities we work with your builder or fitout contractor from the ground up, ensuring data cabling is roughed-in before concrete is poured or walls are closed.
CCTV and Access Control
Most warehouse operators need more than just WiFi. We install complete UniFi Protect CCTV systems with coverage across loading docks, entrances, internal aisles and perimeter fencing. Cameras run over the same PoE network infrastructure as your access points — no separate DVR system required.
Access control on roller doors, pedestrian entries and server rooms gives you a complete audit trail of who accessed what and when — all managed from the same UniFi interface as your cameras and WiFi.
Working on Active Sites

We understand that most warehouses can’t shut down for a fit-out. Our team holds current White Cards, completes site-specific inductions, and carries SWMS documentation for every job. We schedule cable runs and access point installations around your operational hours — early morning, evenings or weekends — to minimise disruption to your team.
All work is coordinated with your site manager and documented with as-built drawings on completion.
